1 Overview
Expense Tracker ("the App") is a personal finance management application developed by Vynix ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2 Data We Collect
We collect minimal data, only what is necessary to display relevant advertisements:

All ad-related data collection is subject to your consent, which is requested on first launch via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). You can update your consent choices at any time in the app settings.
3 Data We Do NOT Collect
We want to be explicit about what we never collect:
- ❌ Your transaction history, amounts, or financial data
- ❌ Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
- ❌ Your bank account details or card numbers
- ❌ Your contacts, photos, or files
- ❌ Your precise GPS location
- ❌ Audio or camera data
- ❌ Login credentials or passwords
No account or login is required to use Expense Tracker.
4 Local Data Storage
All your financial data — transactions, categories, accounts, budgets, and preferences — is stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your device using Android's Room library.
📱 What is stored on your device
- Transactions (amount, title, category, date, notes, tags)
- Budget limits and spending history
- Account names and balances
- App settings (currency, theme preference)
- Custom categories
This data is never transmitted to our servers. It is only accessible to the App on your device. If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data is permanently deleted.
The Export and Backup features allow you to copy your own data (as CSV or JSON) to share or store wherever you choose — this is fully under your control.
5 Advertising (AdMob)
Expense Tracker is free to use and is supported by advertising. We use Google AdMob and its mediation partners to display ads.

- Pangle (TikTok for Business)

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by:
- Tapping the Privacy Options button in Settings (EU/EEA users)
- Going to your device Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID
6 Firebase Services
We use Google Firebase Realtime Database for one purpose only:
🔧 Ad Configuration
Firebase is used to remotely manage ad unit IDs and ad settings. This allows us to update ad configurations without requiring an app update. No personal data or financial information is ever written to Firebase.
Firebase is governed by Google's Firebase Privacy Policy.
7 GDPR & Your Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of access — Request a copy of data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to restriction — Request restriction of processing
- Right to data portability — Export your data (use the in-app Export feature)
- Right to object — Object to data processing for advertising
- Right to withdraw consent — Withdraw ad consent via Settings → Privacy Options
Since all financial data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise the right to erasure by simply uninstalling the App, which permanently deletes all local data.

8 Children's Privacy
Expense Tracker is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.
9 Data Security
We take security seriously. Your financial data is protected by:
- Local-only storage — data never transmitted to external servers
- Android's application sandboxing — other apps cannot access Expense Tracker's data
- Android's built-in encryption when device encryption is enabled
No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. We recommend enabling device PIN/biometric lock as an additional layer of protection.
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
